Jelmer has a background in industrial design engineering from TU Delft and has a passion for 3D graphics. He ran his own website agency for 10 years before moving to Norway, where he focussed on interaction design and digital product development. With the rise of immersive technologies (augmented reality and virtual reality), he was able to combine his interest for interaction design and 3D graphics. In 2019, Jelmer joined Sopra Steria Norway’s mixed reality department. In 2020 he and his colleague Ingri won Microsoft’s accessibility prize during Sopra Steria’s Innovation Awards for an app to help visually impaired using AR and computer vision technology.
